In an attempt to 'do something funny for money' for Comic Relief, Harris Associates’ PR Director Tim Crowther – who’s also a presenter on BBC Radio Leeds – joined the rest of his broadcasting chums at Batley’s famous Frontier Club to take part in BBC Leeds’ ‘Star in Their Eyes’ night.
Tim and co-presenter Joe Maiden opted (yes, they actually chose this..!) to be Elton John and Kiki Dee singing ‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart’ – and at the end of the night they were amazed the celebrity panel of judges awarded them the third place trophy!
“It was a sell-out night with a capacity 700 people in the audience,” said Tim. "We were the source of much hilarity, not least because of Joe’s lime green dress and his matching high heels, which he swapped half way through our routine for a pair of comfortable wellies..!” As well as smiles, the event raised several thousand pounds for Comic Relief charities.
‘Tim and Joe’ can be heard on BBC Radio Leeds each Sunday morning starting at 9am.
